Hüseyin Küçükali
I am a public health scientist experienced in artificial intelligence, causal inference and systems methods. My research focuses on preventing chronic diseases and promoting healthy behaviours through urban and digital environments.
I have a background in Medicine and a PhD in Public Health from Istanbul University - Cerrahpasa. I led health promotion projects at the Istanbul Health Directorate. I taught public health and epidemiology courses at Istanbul Medipol University. I did postdoctoral research at Queen's University Belfast, exploring the causal effects of the urban environment and place-based interventions on health behaviours and non-communicable disease risk (including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, dementia, and depression). I am recognised as a Docent of Public Health by the Turkish Higher Education Council.
Currently, I am working as a researcher at Utrecht University contributing to the International Human Exposome Network. I am building open science platforms for causal inference and exposome research.
My works have been supported by the Turkish Green Crescent Society, Heart Research UK, The Alan Turing Institute, UK Research and Innovation, European Commission and numerous brilliant colleagues.
